Surrealist master Jan Svankmajer (FAUST, ALICE) brings a famous Czech legend eerily to life in the darkly hilarious cautionary tale of LITTLE OTIK. An ordinary couple, Karel and Bozena, are unable to conceive a child. When Karel digs up a tree root and whittles something vaguely resembling a human baby, Bozena's maternal longings transform the stump into a living creature with a (literally) monstrous appetite that can't be met with baby formula. Svankmajer brilliantly mixes his wicked humor with his subversive politics and love of mythology into a stunning live-action fable for our times. Wow! I really loved the movie Little Otik. The movie is absolutely stunning with top-notch graphics and visuals while Veronika Zilkov deliver some award-winning performances in this movie.

I also think Jan Hartl was great! The visuals and graphics make for some very realistic on screen special-effects but that is the beauty of the movie.When the movie wants to be funny it is funny, the same is true for when the movie needs to deliver its scary aspects.

I think Veronika Zilkov and Jan Hartl worked wonderful in Little Otik. The great supporting cast includes Veronika Zilkov, Jan Hartl, Jaroslava Kretschmerov, Pavel Nov, Kristina Adamcov.
